Join us at the British Museum for two days of fascinating lectures exploring archaeology, rock art and current research.
Located in the heart of the Western Desert of Egypt, the Dakhleh Oasis has long been the focus of an intensive programme of archaeological, environmental, prehistoric and historic research. These culturally and geographically significant, ongoing studies explore the relationship between environmental change and human activity.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Dakhleh Oasis Project’s first survey season and this colloquium – the 10th international conference of the project – aims to bring together the latest research and analyses of the oasis and its environs.
The Annual Egyptological Colloquium will be accompanied by the Annual Distinguished Lecture in Egyptology on Thursday 7 September. The lecture will be followed by a reception.
This event is presented in partnership with the Dakhleh Oasis Trust.
